msg (RET) Michael Sonnenschein Fundraiser

Thank you to all our cadets who came out Tuesday evening in support of Master Sergeant Mike Sonnenschein's recovery. Ranger Mike Sonnenschein played an instrumental role in founding the Viera High JROTC program along with Colonel Thomas in 2010. He led the raider and color guard teams to several top two finishes in districts and state qualifiers from 2010-2015, when he retired and became a missionary in Haiti. On the 27th of May 2021, he was ambushed. Sonnenschein was shot in the scapula, and sustained major injuries to his lung and spinal cord. He is undergoing recovery in a Georgia hospital.
