Teams

The Viera Hawk Battalion has various teams and extracurriculars to try out for. There is the Raider Team, a competitive athletic team that participates in various events to place. There is the Rifle Team, a competitive marksmanship team that participates in shooting competition. There is the Drill team, which also comprises of Color Guard, a competitive ceremonial team which competes in competition of military bearing, accuracy, as well as drill and ceremony. There is Honor Guard, our ceremonial team that presents colors at various events for Viera High School and around Brevard County. And then there is JLAB, or Junior ROTC Leadership and Academic Bowl, an academic team that competes in academic rounds to eventually compete to go to Nationals.

Honor Unit with Distinction
The Hawk Battalion earned the Honor Unit with Distinction for three consecutive inspections. Unit inspections are now conducted every four years. Cadets wear a gold star on their uniform to recognize this honor. The Hawk Battalion has earned the Honor Unit with Distinction consecutively for the following school years:
